VRSG as a Multi-Channel Image Generator MetaVR VRSG MultiChannel Server is the VRSG Windows-based PC render engine with added support for the MultiChannel viewpoint protocol.
VRSG MultiChannel is a UDP-based network interface that allows your simulation model to control an unlimited number of VRSG channels. The multi-channel synchronization technology is used in a variety of multi-channel simulators ranging from ground vehicles to helicopters and fast-moving fixed-wing aircraft. Using the VRSG MultiChannel viewpoint protocol, your simulation model provides the current position and orientation of the ownship every frame. The visual channels begin drawing the scene when they receive the current ownship update. This affords what we refer to as “front-end” synchronization, ensuring that each channel begins the next frame at the same time, and remains paced by the host. This multi-channel-enabled version of VRSG is referred to as a VRSG MultiChannel client. Your simulation model that controls VRSG via the viewpoint protocol is referred to as a multi-channel synchronization master. When a VRSG MultiChannel server is purchased, we provide a master version of VRSG (pictured above), which contains the capability of controlling multiple VRSG clients. This is useful for creating a multi-channel stealth, or for configuring and validating various field-of-view and eyepoint combinations to test the display system. You can order the VRSG MultiChannel Server software application directly from MetaVR or you calculate a quote for a complete system. Our OAA based white paper is also available upon request. |
